As we learned in our July YNP session, millennials are entering the workforce with intense passion and creativity. They are ready to stir up the status quo and are looking for receptive audiences to engage in their new ideas. However, for many young leaders who are new to the nonprofit sector or are just starting their careers, it can be challenging to translate your internal passions into a confident and trusting voice.
So, if we want to grow in our careers, how can we communicate our vision to create lasting change and further our organizations' mission? Join CNM for our August YNP session with featured speaker, Laton Key (Senior Account Manager and Certified Trainer at Dale Carnegie Training of Tennessee).
Laton will explore various ways that persuasive communication skills can be used and honed to advance your career. Walk away with a strategic framework on how you can share your ideas, build influence, and gain buy-in from senior leadership.
Event Objectives:
- How to develop confidence when speaking and presenting your ideas
- How to navigate office politics when you feel left out
- Learn and practice networking techniques while building your professional network
- Support peers by sharing ideas and solutions
- Laugh, learn, and grow!
About the Presenter:
Born and raised in Cookeville, TN, Laton is a Tennessee Technological University graduate with a B.S. in Biology, Health Science, and minors in both Speech Communications and Chemistry. Since he joined Dale Carnegie in 2016, he has advised hundreds of business professionals to a greater level of success.
