About CEO Conversations:

CNM’s CEO Conversations series is designed to provide learning and networking opportunities for Nonprofit Executive Directors and CEOs. With a mix of educational and social gatherings, CEO Conversation events allow space for Executives to share best practices while strengthening the whole nonprofit community.

Event Description:

Engaged and intelligent nonprofit boards are behind some of the most impactful, effective and efficient organizations. And, conversely, apathetic and chaotic boards are behind some of the most ineffective and stagnant organizations. Finding the best people to support your organization involves creating a board culture around community, leadership, and strategy. When truly engaged, board members will become your nonprofit's best ambassadors, advocates, and all around supporters.

Join featured panelist, CNM workshop facilitator, and nonprofit consultant, Gerald Brown, for a CEO Conversation discussing how to create emotional bridges that will take your board from apathetic to enthusiastic! His depth of knowledge in board leadership strategies to strengthen mission-based outcomes has returned dividends for nonprofits of multiple sizes and fields. We are thrilled to have him leading our April CEO Conversation Event!

Topics Addressed:

  • Highlighting the importance of dynamic communication, whether virtual or in-person, and pitfalls to avoid
  • Exploring diversity as a key to growth and why all kinds of diversity can make communities stronger
  • Discussing how nonprofit CEO’s can get creative when tapping into trustees’ various strengths and interests
  • Examining formalized mentoring programs for new members and leaders

About the Facilitator:

With nearly two decades of executive experience in the non-profit sector, Gerald A. Brown has helped raise over $14 million to fund the missions of some of Nashville's most impactful non-profit organizations. In addition to his facilitation work through CNM, Gerald serves as a Principle at GAB Consulting Group, a nonprofit consulting company.
