Center for Nonprofit Management Announces Five New Board Members

NASHVILLE, TN – The Center for Nonprofit Management (CNM) announces the appointment of five new members of its board of directors, as well as the full slate of officers and board members.

Joining the CNM board are Cristina Allen, Chip Blaufuss, Bob Cooper, Claudia Huskey and Bill Purcell.

“All five of our new board members embody CNM’s mission of strengthening nonprofits and their partners, and we are proud to benefit from their immense talents and expertise – from all sectors,” said CNM President and CEO Tari Hughes. “With deep board engagement, CNM has recently approved a strategic plan and we look forward to continue working with our board on the plan’s implementation.”

Cristina Allen is the Executive Director of the Hispanic Family Foundation and brings more than 20 years of marketing experience to the board. Other new board members come from corporate backgrounds: Chip Blaufuss is the Assistant Vice President, Strategic Innovation at HCA. Bob Cooper, former Tennessee Attorney General and legal counsel to Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen, is currently with Bass, Berry and Sims law firm.

Claudia Huskey and Bill Purcell bring governmental sector experience. Huskey is the Senior Advisor for Special Events and Initiatives in the Mayor’s Office, and has previously served as Campaign Manager for Megan Barry’s mayoral campaign after working as Senior Aide to Former Vice President Al Gore. Purcell is the former mayor of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County (1999-2007) and is a founding partner of Farmer Purcell White & Lassiter, PLLC.

The 2017 slate of officers were also approved, including David Fox of MP&F as board chair, Christine Bradley of Vanderbilt University as vice-chair, Harry Allen of the new Studio Bank as treasurer and Mendy Mazzo of Skanska as secretary.
