Job Summary

The Program Coordinator plans and supervises multiple programs for Gallatin Shalom Zone, including budgeting, community outreach to constituents served by the programs, and volunteer recruitment, supervision, and training. Gallatin Shalom Zone (GSZ), a 501c3 non-profit organization located in Gallatin, TN. The Mission of Gallatin Shalom Zone is to empower and enrich the lives of individuals and families in our diverse community by providing meaningful assistance and quality programs. The establishment of the Union High Resource Center provides Gallatin Shalom Zone opportunities to partner with community members and other organizations to build the physical, educational, emotional, spiritual and economic health of the community through programs that foster sustainable and healthy living. By promoting healing in Sumner County, Gallatin Shalom Zone will be participating in the vibrancy of Gallatin and Sumner County for generations to come.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop program work plans in accordance with project goals, objectives, and funding limitations
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of training for staff and volunteers working in the specific programs
  • Assist with identification of clients and constituents best served by GSZ programs
  • Track participation and outcomes in programs
  • Recommend new programs; advise on adjustments to current programs; and advise on the continuation of programs that may no longer fulfill the mission of GSZ
  • Participate in content develop of current and new programs
  • Assist with development and communication of promotional materials for programs and services
  • Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda
  • Ensure technology is used correctly for all operations
  • Prepare paperwork and order material
  • Keep updated records and create reports or proposals
  • Assist in recruitment and training of volunteers and paid support staff
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Asst. Executive Director or Executive Director

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in education, sociology, or related field; or equivalent related experience

EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience in education, youth-related services, or similar field; Demonstrated experience in program coordination; Experience working in underserved communities, schools, and/or community-based (nonprofit) agencies; Attention to cultural competence in all manner of family and community engagement
