Job Summary

Responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as providing guidance on compliance and privacy matters including but not limited to HIPAA, OSHA, IT security, and campus security. Responsible for identifying and eliminating the risks of noncompliance internally and externally

Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops and supports a strong culture of compliance and ensures the organization has a clearly defined program for complying with federal and state laws.
  • Develops and oversees control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies.
  • Uses sound decision-making and discretion in making decisions that mitigate corporate risk at each decision point.
  • Communicates written policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Ensures training is provided on IT Security and other training as necessary.
  • Prepares reports for executive leadership and board of directors as appropriate.
  • Responsible for maintaining incident logs and working with the Compliance Officer to investigate compliance incidents.
  • Files compliance reports with regulatory agencies.
  • Acts as a resource for leaders, providing advice and training.
  • Acts as liaison between the company and the IT security and compliance vendors.
  • Responsible for creating employee badges, maintaining security levels, and signature lines, and ensuring the disabling of data, system, and facility access upon termination.
  • Responsible for company keys, IT hardware inventory, and equipment such as phones, tablets, laptops, etc., and the check-in and check-out process.
  • Responsible for security cameras, software, and campus security.
  • Approves requests for special software and any exceptions for connection to the organization’s wireless network.
  • Maintains technology inventory and assignments from procurement to destruction.
  • Maintains a list of authorized applications and licensing agreements.
  • Identifies devices that store digital images and ensures the hard drive or memory is encrypted.
  • Attends meetings and conferences and participates in other activities to promote professional growth.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Health Administration, or other related program. 3 years of proven experience with compliance is preferred.

Computer Skills

To be successful in this job, an individual should have basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software and web-based applications.
