Belmont University rolled out the Executive Leadership Experience program in 2011. The program provided for-profit and nonprofit leaders an opportunity to improve their skills, be a part of a peer learning environment and receive a certificate from the university.

The 10-month program kicked off with a three-day retreat in October where participants received individualized feedback, coaching and developing planning and a chance to be part of monthly one-day sessions for the next eight months. These sessions focused on leadership for dynamic environments, market intelligence and strategic thinking, difficult conversations, negotiation skills, executive presence and presentation skills, and more.
