Center for Nonprofit Management (CNM) is pleased to offer a special training opportunity for Montgomery County and surrounding areas. CNM will be offering two 2 ½ hour workshops on the basics of grant writing and community partnerships. The goal of the workshops is to help your community to better understand the grant process and pursue collaborations with local business partners during these challenging economic times.


Who: Nonprofit Executive Directors, Development Directors, and Board Members

Where: Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library

Why: To gather with your peers to explore in-depth ways to find, ask, cultivate, and manage funding dollars within your community setting

When: July 14, 2011 (registration begins at 9:30 am)

Session 1 – Basic Grant Writing (10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)

The competition for corporate and foundation support is fierce. The ability to write a proposal that will result in funding is in high demand. In this hands-on session, participants will assess organizational readiness, review private versus public funding sources, discuss the 10/60 rule, address the proposal fundamentals, and critique grants. This workshop provides practical help with the fundamentals of writing grant proposals and locating funding sources.

Fee: $15.00

Session 2 – Cultivating Community Partnerships (1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.)

In today’s marketplace, companies are searching for more than just a pretty face and a great mission – what they really want is exposure and market reach. Successful partnerships start with developing a strategy for finding good prospects and cultivating them. This class will explore the importance of building relationships with local businesses and the methods for maximizing your partnerships.
