Held February 19-20 in Washington, D.C., the Summit is designed to facilitate discussion and identification of best practices for intermediaries across the country. Intermediaries are defined as organizations that utilize funding for nonprofit consulting and training purposes. Ultimately, the Summit’s purpose is the production of a guidebook promoting best practices and innovations among the nation’s most respected organizations that consult and train nonprofits in their community.

“The Center is honored to be a part of an exclusive group that will help to serve as a model for other organizations across the country,” stated Lewis Lavine, CNM President. “I look forward to learning more about other organizations’ best practices, and how CNM can further work to fulfill our mission in the most effective way possible.”

The Center was selected out of a screening process that included telephone interviews with both Summit organizers. Among the other organizations participating are the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations, the Black Ministerial Alliance of Greater Boston, the Cherokee Nation, and the Wichita University Self-Help Network.

CNM provides training, consulting, research, evaluation and recognition to more than 700 nonprofit member agencies each year. The organization has a staff of eight employees, supplemented by 20 consultants and more than 50 specialized instructors. With an annual budget of more than $1.7 million, CNM has touched nearly every member of the community during its 21-year history.
