CEO CONVERSATIONS The CEO Conversations Series is a free monthly learning and networking opportunity for nonprofit executive directors and CEOs. With a mix of educational and social opportunities, executives will be able to learn from one another and meet other Middle Tennessee leaders. The CEO or executive director of any CNM-member agency is automatically eligible to attend these sessions. How Effective is Your Team? As chief executive, your team looks to you as a leader and for support—which can be challenging, to say the least. Starting in February, CEO Conversations will kick off a three-part series about team building. Discuss with your peers the challenges of bringing your non-staff team members to the table, understanding your organization's culture, and building the most effective team possible. Session One: Building your team, What is your bench-strength? Your team roster is much more than your staff list. Whether you are a staff of one or one hundred, there are important people who bring resources to the table and help you to reach your goals. How do you identify and cultivate your team? How can our non-staff team members contribute to our success feel good about their roles? This conversation will encourage you to think beyond your limitations to a new way of working with others. Wednesday, Feb. 13; 8-9:30 a.m. Session Two: CEO as Engineer, Harnessing the Energy of Your Culture. Whether intentional or not, you are the engineer of your organization's culture. Staff, board, volunteers and supporters all take their cues from you when they interact with each other and work toward your organization's success. Take control of this force and use your engineering skills to maximize its positive influence on employee retention, volunteer satisfaction and much more. Wednesday, March 13; 8-9:30 a.m. Session Three: Effective Teams Get More Done! Increase your organization's mission impact by empowering your team. It takes a flexible and creative leader to get the most from everyone. Efficiency isn't just working hard, it is using your leadership tools to make every minute count. Wednesday, April 17; 8-9:30 a.m.
