Fundraising Planning and Coordination
Every nonprofit today is confronted by the need to build a sustained fundraising strategy to sustain their work. CNM consultants assist you in your fundraising efforts by assessing your current fundraising mechanisms and making recommendations for improvement, develop a fundraising plan and even train your board members to “make the ask.” In addition, we also serve as support in endowment and capital campaign efforts, and can shepherd your staff to carry out those efforts to success. To get the process started, contact Kim Carpenter Drake, Vice President, at (615) 259-0100 ext. 305 or

Client Stories
"The Center for Nonprofit Management recommended that Irma Kaplan work with United Neighborhood Health Services on the capital campaign for the Southside Family Clinic. This was the first capital campaign that UNHS launched since its 1976 beginning. And up to the time that Irma joined UNHS we did everything wrong. And we definitely put the cart before the horse. The property was purchased and donated, the architectural plans were complete, the contractor had been chosen and construction was ready to begin. But UNHS had not yet begun to raise capital to fund the project. In addition, with no local fundraising to speak of, UNHS had only a small donor base.
As part of the capital campaign, Irma led United Neighborhood in planning for a fundraising infrastructure that would last after the capital campaign. This included hiring a development director to focus on corporate and local donors, establishing an advisory committee, and developing a public relations plan. These were important steps to diversify the revenue base of UNHS.
As a result of Irma's consultation UNHS made real changes:
UNHS went through a re-branding process, developed a new logo and literature and contracted with a public relations firm.
UNHS hired a development director with a focus on corporate and local donors.
UNHS established an advisory committee.
These efforts have all resulted in UNHS being better able to improve the health of Nashville's residents, particularly those with limited incomes and resources, and minorities. United Neighborhood is finding new partners and new ways to serve those most in need. And we hope the future will have greater diversified funding that will enable UNHS to support the development of programs that cannot otherwise be funded."
